Dan has a long history of successfully launching and relaunching major editorial brands in print and online. In the Web’s early days, he ran 3Ships Communications, which may have been the first editorial agency devoted to new media. A pioneering blogger, Dan was one of the first editors to create a permanent online presence for a monthly print magazine.
A camera-ready, accomplished speaker, Dan has presented at numerous trade shows and appeared on many television shows, including Good Morning America, CNBC, Extra, and FX’s morning show Breakfast Time. He was a frequent guest on CNN programs around the world had a weekly spot on CNNfn’s Biz Buzz.
Dan began his career at United Press International, where he covered stories including the divestiture of AT&T, experiments in fusion power, and the return of American hostages from Iran. His experience includes working for some of the largest news organizations in the U.S., including CMP Media, Cowles Business Media, Mecklermedia, NBC Universal, PennWell Corp., Time Inc., and Ziff Davis. He is married with two kids, and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
